Back at It (Day 8)

I've wrapped up the first week of the program and I have to say I am pretty happy with myself. I wasn't sure if I was even going to stick with it but I am glad that I have. Todays workout was a repeat session from last weak but I'm not complaining. There are only so many ways to train you body and so far my body has been feeling it. I would like to stray off topic and toss this little anecdote out there. Something that I've been craving for a long time is starting to return. The ability to wake up refreshed in the morning and not feeling like the world is crashing behind me. I now have more energy when I wake up first thing in the morning. It use to be a struggle to wake up for the past month or so I've been off any sort of extra exercise.

Looking to Tomorrow (Day 6)

Unfortunately I don't have a lot to say about the 6th day. The 6th day in my workout was a repeat exercises set from one day previously in the week. I think what really pushed me through this day was the fact that tomorrow I'd be able to rest without fear of having to do any exercises whatsoever. I would like to note that I did make myself feel sick after this workout. However, I can't link it to what or when I ate, how hydrated my body was, or the time I conducted the session (It was around 11pm to 12am).

Back to the Grind (Day 5)

What better way from coming off a relaxing recover day to explode my workout into all it could be. What looked like the longest set so far was filled with nothing but pure cardio exercises pushing what my heart and lungs could handle to its fullest. But there is something I must point out that I noticed today. Saying this so early on in the process might sound a little strange but it's 100% accurate. The close to 45 minute run time actually seemed to take less time than normal. What I mean by that is rather than looking at the countdown clock and seeing the time only having moved a minute or two, the time had begun to move in larger chunks.

Much Needed Rest (Day 4)

If in day 3 I hadn't expressed how exhausted my body felt, maybe I can convey it a little further here. I have yet to fully complete a workout in the sense that I was able to continuously move between sets. By the half way point in each session, I was on the ground, grasping for any oxygen that might be within range. Praise be to the instructor to decided that on this day we would focus on recover. Far less was the focus on pushing myself to dropping and more effort was put into stretching and balance. This was also the first I had ever partook of any type of Yoga. I embraced this day with open arms and my body was ever so grateful for it.

Doubt Already? (Day 3)

I have now hit the 3rd day in my workout sessions and I'm not sure how much more I can push myself. My body has begun to reject the idea of moving more than to get up from my bed and make my way over the to fridge for one of my 5 portioned meals I am suppose to be eating a day. Luckily, this workout surprised me with the content I'd be exposing my body to. As usual, I started out with warm up exercises to get my body hot and my heart rate up. However, rather than a completely cardiocentric work out, or what I'd consider to be cardio, a few potions in the line up invoked working out a few upper body muscles. This was a welcomed addition has my lower body was feeling it's max prior to even starting.

The Real First Day (Day 2)

What am I getting myself into? The second day's challenge started way early on in the day prior to even coming close to time to getting in the workout grind. One of the biggest challenges I think I am going to face is the temptation to consume more food than I need to. This rolls over into making sure protein is my main food staple. Luckily I was able to ignore the offering of pizza and to settle for something less appealing but much better for me and my goals.

With that being said lets move into the workout. This is probably where I have asked what am I getting myself into. I pushed myself to my limit but couldn't keep up with what was being asked of me. Over a 30 minute workout period, by the last 10 I was on the ground trying to catch my breath. I kept trying to get back into it but I knew my body was spent. By the time I was done I hit the shower and then hit the couch. Unfortunately for me, my legs seemed to be failing for me and it was very hard to remove myself later in the night.

The Test (Day 1)

Today marks the first day of starting a pretty insane workout plan. I can't say the exact plan that I am on for fear of possible copyright issues that could possibly arise. I'd rather just play it safe and keep this blog product free. But I can't stress enough how insane this workout regiment is. Hopefully I can give an accurate account of my experience, doing my best to stay strong with food, workouts, and the like.

The first part of the process was to put together a food plan. Using a rather complicated formula, I was suggested to eat around 2250 calories a day to loose a healthy amount of weight. The formula could be broken down into simply multiplying your body weight x 14. I dropped down to 2,000 to hopefully give me a little better result by only skipping out on a snack a day. With that in mind, I'm still going to allow myself 2250 but my personal daily goal is 2000 with a little spill over for small things I may not account for (i.e. I wont be doing exact food measurements).

With that accomplished the workout could begin. The first day seemed rather easy. It's meant to be. The first day's activities involve simple activities for you to attempt to do as many as you possibly can. The point is to track progress over the course of the program. I had been actively at the gym but have had at least a month off from some illnesses so this was essentially a fresh start. I was surprised at how much I could beat myself up. In what I can assume is the easy set for the course, by the end I was very exhausted. However, I liked my numbers and they sounded pretty close to compete with those in the program and what they started at.
